Racing rules of sailing

42.1 Propulsion - basic rule. Except when permitted in rule 42.3 (exceptions) or 45 (hauling out, making fast and anchoring), a boat shall compete by using only the wind and water to increase, maintain or decrease her speed. Her crew may adjust the trim of sails and hull, and perform other acts of seamanship, but shall not otherwise move their bodies to propel the boat.

Safety tip of the day

If you are putting your life jacket on whilst in the water, slide your arms through each side from inside to out, then slip the jacket over your head.
