Racing rules of sailing

26.3 When the race committee is required to display a flag as a visual signal, it may use a flag or other object of a similar appearance.

Safety tip of the day

If you find water in your boat and you are not sure where it came from, taste it. If it is fresh it is from your water tanks. If it is salty it is from a leak in the hull or water ballast tanks.
