Racing rules of sailing

31 Touching a mark. While racing, a boat shall not touch a starting mark before starting, a mark that begins, bounds or ends the leg of the course on which she is sailing, or a finishing mark after finishing.

Safety tip of the day

When jumping into the water, step away from the boat and leave your legs spread front and back. This keeps you away from the hull of the boat and reduces the distance you will go into the water.
