Orontes Cup Race Oct 17th 2020

Here are some of the best bits of the Orontes Cup race yesterday in HD.
Thanks to Geoff for the camera work, and to the crew of Geoff, Chris, Matt D and David.

Started off with a short upwind leg.
We had a mediocre start in 20knots of breeze and were in contact with the leaders at the first mark.
The breeze progressively dropped during the next leg, which left us underpowered compared to the TP52s.
We only had about 10knots of wind for the beat down to Orontes Beacon against a knot of incoming tide, so slipped back to almost 3rd.
The final leg was always going to be our best, being a 2 sail reach with 15-20 knots of breeze.
At 18-20knots of boat speed, we fired up and moved away from the fleet to take line honours by about 20 min.

Nice little spring sail

Great spring sailing in Gulf St Vincent returning from Brighton with the Code Zero and 12-14 knots of breeze and TWA of about 120 degrees. Nice flat water as the breeze had built from almost nothing earlier in the day.
Boat speed consistently over 20 knots a little later on in the reach with everyone dry and no fuss at all.
