Due to COVID it is pretty clear that travel plans in the foreseeable future are precarious at best, different regions of Australia can rapidly close in response to the virus, and the risk of contracting COVID in any place can change on a daily basis.
As a result we have reluctantly decided not to take Venom to the Australian Offshore Multihull Championships/Festival of Sails in 2021
We are hoping the COVID situation improves as rapidly as possible so our fellow sailors in Victoria can get back to some sort of normality as soon as possible and hopefully we will be able to take part in 2022 instead.
In the meantime, we will be focusing on maximising our performance and will be taking part in the local races in Gulf St Vincent.
Our focus will be on the longer local races, the King of the Gulf Regatta and the Adelaide-Port Lincoln race – where we have some unfinished business…..
Seamanship quiz update
The Seamanship quiz has been updated with an additional 37 question (mostly about types of charts and their accuracy) and expanded to 20 points from 15 points. Hope you enjoy it and find it useful.
Change of plans….
Due to the COVID situation travel plans are unable to be made with any certainty at present.
Unfortunately this means that we have decided not to bring Venom to Victoria to do the Cock of the Bay and Melbourne to Devonport Races at the end of the year.
There is still a chance that we will come over to do the Australian Offshore Multihull Championships/Festival of Sails in late January, but no decision about this will be made until much closer to the time.
Lets hope the situation improves as rapidly as possible so we can all get back to some sort of normality.
In the meantime, Venom will continue to take part in the local races in Gulf St Vincent.
